Today, we officially launch our new website and blog! We’re excited to be a resource for brides and bring them tips and trends to help inspire the wedding of their dreams. To help you get to know us and learn more about Vela Visuals Wedding Films, we’ve done a Q&A below:
What is Vela Visuals Wedding Films?
VVWF is a production team that solely focuses on creating cinematic wedding films. We are located in Central Florida, but are no strangers to traveling domestically and internationally for destination weddings. What sets us apart is our cinematic films. We want brides and grooms to relive their teary exchange of vows, dances, and speeches through a cinematic movie experience. More importantly, we create films that you will be able to watch and share for years to come.
Shawn and Nory are a husband and wife team, and absolutely love working together to make sure brides and grooms are able to relive their special day in a unique way.
How do you work together at VVWF?
We are a dynamic duo, Shawn of course shoots and edits the wedding films, but I (Nory) do the finishing touches. I give him a female’s perspective on what a bride would want. I see and approve all of the films before they are sent to brides. I also interact with brides before, during, and after the wedding to make sure their experience and film is everything they want it to be.
Aside from the two of us, we also work with an awesome team of talented cinematographers.
How did Shawn get involved with Cinematography?
In college, Shawn’s first love was audio engineering. This lead him to two unpaid internships with a Grammy Nominated Audio Engineer and a former NFL Films camera operator. As an intern, the very first professional video shoot Shawn assisted on was a wedding. Since then, Shawn went on to film and edit Emmy Award Winning Documentaries, filmed on 4 Super Bowl Commercial Sets, Co-Founded a television series “David Ivory Presents” on Comcast Xfinity, won awards for Sound Design in Film, and continues to travel around the world doing what he loves.
Shawn went to Drexel University in Philadelphia to study business and marketing because he wanted to learn the ins & outs of how to properly run a business and understand what is important to people. Video and audio were hobbies that turned into his passion. Under the direction of awesome mentors, great opportunities, and God’s grace he was able to develop Vela Visuals. His first major wedding film was my friend’s, Jessica Zivkovich. We wanted to gift her and her husband a wedding film because…well, she’s my best friend. That one video opened the doors to many more opportunities and here we are today!
What is your vision for the blog?
We want our blog to be a useful resource for brides who are planning their weddings. We want to inspire, educate, and be a place where brides can turn to for current trends, tips, and more. We’ll also be showcasing our wedding films and recommending some of our favorite wedding vendors.
